Mark Anthony Rodriguez

Mark Anthony Rodriguez, 35, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019. Mark was born as a blessing from God, to Ruben Rodriguez and Christina Rainwater, in Austin, Texas. Mark attended schools in the Del Valle Independent School District. As his goals changed and he became passionate about cars, he obtained his GED and began working as a mechanic. He always credited his success in life from being “street-smart.” His brothers often called him the “CEO of Certified Hustlers.” Mark learned at an early age, what it meant to be a God-fearing man, as he and his siblings would attend church with their grandmother, Esther.

Mark had a very special place in his heart and a solid bond with his siblings, however, his children were his heart and soul. Mark was the kinda guy would light up a room. Some would say Mark was crass and was known to put people on blast, but to those who knew him, knew he was a diehard friend who just called it as he saw it.

Mark leaves in God’s hands to cherish his memories the love of his life, Melissa Hegstad; his children, Christopher, Michael, Alexis, and Mark Rodriguez, Jr.; Alexis and Mark’s mother, Brianna Rangel; his father, Ruben Rodriguez, Sr. and his mother, Christina Rainwater; his siblings, Troy Rodriguez, Melissa and her husband Joe Gonzales, Ruben Rodriguez, Jr. and his wife Ashley Brown, Andrew Rodriguez, Ashley Rodriguez, and Justin Rodriguez; uncles, David Rodriguez, Joel Rodriguez, and Benjamin Rodriguez; aunts, Rachel Rodriguez, Becky Rodriguez, and Maria Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Mark Anthony Rodriguez, 35, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019. Family and friends will gather at the Elgin Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, on Friday, August 9th with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Elgin Latin Cemetery. Arrangements and care are entrusted to Elgin Funeral Home.
