Jimmy “Jim” Galvan Sr., 48, of Elgin, was called home to our Lord, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, January 25, 2022.  Jim was born on July 3, 1973, and grew up in Pflugerville, where he attended school and graduated with the Class of ’91.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served Honorably during the Persian Gulf and Desert Storm.  Following his military service, he worked for Sematech, and then later went on to join the Local 286 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union.  Jim was a dedicated and hard worker, who was revered by those he supervised and worked with.  Jim’s greatest passion was working on his family ranch and spending time with his family.

Jim was preceded by his first daughter, Miranda Galvan and his youngest brother, Gregg Balderas Jr.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Eilene; his six children, Josh Walenta, Justin Galvan, Kaitlyn and husband Trey Moore, Jimmy Galvan and wife Kirsten, Lane Eckerdt, and Kamryn Galvan; his two grandchildren, Dana Galvan and Jimmy W. Galvan III; both his parents, Mary and Gregorio Balderas Sr.; his brother, Antonio “Tony” Galvan; his sister, Alice and David Kirk; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.  His loving pranks and jokes will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
