Dianna Lynn Perkins, age 48 of Elgin, received her angel wings on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Dianna’s sudden and unexpected passing has caused a profound sadness and a tremendous loss to her family and friends.

Dianna was a native Texan and proud of it. She was a vibrant person who never met a stranger. She was an outgoing and athletic child, who loved to watch the Dallas Cowboy football team with her Dad. She got a big thrill a few years ago when she had the opportunity to meet “Mr. Cowboy”, Bob Lily and held his Super Bowl ring.

Dianna entered military service after graduation from high school and was honored with an award for her skill as a sharp shooter. She worked several years for the local doctor’s practice in the business office, where she was highly respected and admired by the doctors and her co-workers.

She was married to Gene Perkins for 28 years and together they had built many successful businesses. She was a strong member of the community and will be deeply missed.

Dianna loved to vacation on the Gulf of Mexico, walk on the beach, eat seafood, and go boating. She was also a huge fan of George Strait and enjoyed many concerts with her family.

However, Dianna’s greatest joy was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She had a great faith and prayed for everyone in the family. A major comfort for her family is that we know she is eternally with her Lord and Savior in Heaven and that we will see her again.

Dianna is survived by her husband of 28 years, Gene Perkins, and by her 2 children, Jesse Perkins and his wife Ashley; Chelsea and Jason Ellis; and her 4 grandchildren; Katelynn, Kandyce, Jessica and Bentley; and by her mother Diann Tucker.

Dianna was preceded in death by her father, Dwight Tucker Sr., who passed away just days prior to her passing.

Dianna had a short, yet very memorable life. Dianna’s life would seem too short for many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She truly embodied the candle that burns twice as brightly but half as long.

Dianna’s celebration of life will be on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Evangelical Free Christian Church located at 1209 N Ave C, Elgin, Texas starting at 12:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Evangelical Free Christian Church. We hope to see Dianna’s friends and family there to celebrate her memorable life!
