What made you want to run for this position?  Because the Sheriff’s department lacks leadership and transparency, many Bastrop County residents currently do not have confidence or trust in the department. Residents are not getting the quality of service they pay for and deserve. Major crimes are receiving less attention because Sheriff’s department personnel seem to be focused more on minor traffic infractions as a ruse to target minorities and do the work of the federal government’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement office.
