Work begins on repairing leaks, removing mold at police station

A historic winter storm, followed by considerable continuous spring rain, worsened roof leaks at the Elgin police station. Currently, repairs are underway to fix the leaks and the mold damage they caused. The police station suffered significant leaks and damage from the February winter storm. The roof has always leaked somewhat, but the leaks were manageable and not to the point to require fixing, and there was a plan to move the police department into a new building at some point anyways.
