Elgin’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6115 gave the town another spectacular fireworks demonstration this Independence Day, members and attendees said.A great undertaking for the VFW planned six months in advance, the event hosted live music, vendors, food trucks and entertainment for children – culminating in a fireworks celebration at dusk worthy of Elgin’s proud. Boy Scouts from local troops 471, 472 and 473 volunteered to help with parking and ensured that everything ran smoothly.
