A vehicle fleeing a deputy led a cross-county chase from Elgin to Taylor last Tuesday afternoon before being stopped by a Williamson County deputy constable. According to information posted by the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Facebook page, a vehicle driven by Wesley Everett Brown was stopped for a traffic violation on U.S. Highway 290 near Elgin. When the deputy asked to see Brown’s driver’s license, the vehicle sped off. The pursuit did not end until the vehicle reached Taylor on Highway 79.
