An 18-wheeler traveling through north Elgin put surrounding residents in the dark Friday afternoon.On March 31, power was knocked out in much of the northeast portion of the city. Police and first responders arrived at the intersection of Texas 95 and Avenue F around 1:30 p.m. for what was first believed to be a highway wreck.“It was determined this was not a crash,” said Elgin Police Department staff in an update to residents Friday. “The 18-wheeler hit a low-hanging power line, causing damage to the pole and power supply.”Texas 95 was shut down for about a half-hour as Oncor and ...
