Elgin police are searching for a teenage girl who left her home without her grandmother’s permission in late February.

Jasmyne Mia Cordova (pictured) is a 16-year-old female, approximately 5’2” with long black hair, brown eyes and braces. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a pink jacket.

On February 21, Cordova’s grandmother and guardian called police at 5:24 p.m. and reported that her granddaughter left the house with permission about ten minutes before, according to an EPD bulletin and EPD’s call blotter. Cordova was grounded and had walked out of the house to go eat with a friend. After speaking to police, the grandmother said she would give Cordova a time to be home, after which she would call the police again.

At 8:40 p.m., the grandmother called EPD back and said Cordova did not return at the time planned. The area was checked for the missing juvenile, and information for a juvenile runaway report was taken.

The next day, Cordova’s grandmother told police she heard the juvenile might be staying with a 19-year-old man at a mobile home park in the Camp Swift area, according to the police call blotter. EPD requested that Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office check the mobile home park for the man.

According to EPD’s bulletin, Cordova may be with a man named Ben or Benjamin somewhere in the Elgin area.

EPD is asking anyone with any information about Cordova to contact detective Jason LeMond at jlemond@pd.ci.elgin.tx.us or 512-285-6673.
