Heather Ott, a third-generation Elgin Courier staffer and fifth-generation Texan, has been named General Manager of the Elgin Courier, effective December 1. Her great-grandmother, Adelee Almquist, and grandmother, Marie Ott, both worked as full-service providers for the Courier. Marie Ott replaced Don Moore in September 2011 as publisher and retired in 2016. She took on many roles over her 30-plus-year career, including dark room pictures and hand inserting circulations.
