October 22 Grand Jury Indictments

An indictment is a formal charge by the State of Texas for a felony offense. It is not a determination of guilt.

Lakenya Alexander—Credit card abuse, a state jail penalty.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about June 25, 2019 did, with intent to fraudulently obtain a benefit, use a credit card with knowledge that the card had not been issued to the defendant, and with knowledge that the card was used without effective consent of the card-holder.

Melinda Avelar— Driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age, a state jail penalty.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about June 27, 2019 did operate a motor vehicle in a public place while the defendant was intoxicated, and the vehicle was occupied by a passenger who was younger than 15 years of age.

Jordan Barron—Failure to comply with sex offender’s duty to register for life annually, a third-degree felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about August 15, 2019 did, while knowing that he was a person required to register under the Sex Offender Registration Program, fail to comply with said program after having a reportable conviction, deferred adjudication or adjudication for the offense of sexual performance of a child, did fail to report in person to and provide the local law enforcement authority and his community supervision and corrections department officer of an intented change of his address with his anticipated move date and new address prior to the seventh day before the intended change.

Michael Bryant—Unauthorized use of a vehicle, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about December 19, 2018 did intentionally and knowingly operate an automobile without the effective consent of the owner.

Jamichael Carter— Theft of property, less than $2,500, with two or more previous convictions, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about August 1, 2019 did unlawfully appropriate, by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over, apparel and a backpack of the value of less than $100 from the owner, without the effective consent of the owner and with intent to deprive the owner of the property.

Two previous convictions for theft on January 27, 2017 in Travis County were also presented.

Connie Castillo—Unauthorized use of a vehicle, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about October 28, 2018 did intentionally and knowingly operate an automobile without the effective consent of the owner.

Connie Castillo— Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than 1 gram.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about October 28, 2018 did intentionally or knowingly possess methamphetamine in an amount of less than 1 gram.

Alice Castimore— Credit card abuse, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about July 5, 2018 did, with intent to fraudulently obtain a benefit, use a credit card with knowledge that the card had not been issued to the defendant, and with knowledge that the card was used without effective consent of the card-holder.

Viola Clemons—Theft of property, less than $2,500, with two or more previous convictions.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about August 13, 2019 did unlawfully appropriate, by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over, a canopy awning, an electronic case and a drink, of the value of $100 or more but less than $750 from the owner, without the effective consent of the owner and with intent to deprive the owner of the property.

Two previous convictions for theft of property—on October 1, 2014 in Fayette County and on June 12, 2019 in Bastrop County—were also presented.

James Cooke—Online impersonate name/ persona create page, a third-degree felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about November 20, 2018 did, without obtaining the consent of the complainant, intentionally and knowingly use the persona of the complainant to create a web page on a social networking site with the intent to harm the complainant.

Devon Cropp—Forgery of a financial instrument, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about March 29, 2018 did, with intent to defraud or harm another, execute a check payable in the amount of $450 so it purported to be the act of a person who did not authorize the act.

Robert Cznesnowski Jr—Delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, greater than or equal to 1 gram, less than 4 grams, a second-degree felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about September 16, 2018 did knowingly deliver by actual transfer methamphetamine in the amount of one gram or more but less than four grams.

Michael Dawson Jr— Theft of property, greater than or equal to $2,500, less than $30,000, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about April 29, 2019 did unlawfully appropriate, by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over, a vehicle of the value of $2,500 or more but less than $30,000 from the owner, without the effective consent of the owner by deception and with intent to deprive the owner of the property.

Angela Dempsey— Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than 1 gram, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about October 25, 2018 did intentionally or knowingly possess methamphetamine in an amount of less than one gram.

Marcus Deroin— Forgery of a financial instrument, a state jail felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about March 20, 2018 did, with intent to defraud or harm another, execute a check payable in the amount of $4,512.90 so it purported to be the act of a person who did not authorize the act.

Carolyn Earley—Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, greater than or equal to 1 gram, less than 4 grams, a third-degree felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about October 20, 2018 did intentionally or knowingly possess methamphetamine in an amount of one gram or more but less than four grams.

Angel Godinez—Assault family member with previous conviction, enhanced, a third-degree felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about April 29, 2019 did intentionally, knowingly or recklessly cause bodily injury to a member of the defendant’s family or household by striking them with the defendant’s hands or other objects, by impairing their breathing with the defendant’s hands, or by grabbing and dragging them with the defendant’s hands, and the defendant had previously been convicted of an offense involving family violence on or about April 24, 2009 and February 21, 2012 in Travis County.

A previous conviction for burglary of a habitation on or about April 5, 2006 was also presented.

Enrique Gomez— Evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, a third-degree felony.

The indictment alleges that the defendant on or about June 25, 2019 did, while using a vehicle, intentionally flee from a person who the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting lawfully to arrest or detain the defendant.
