New CASAs named to help children

New voices for local children in certain dire situations have been named.On Nov. 1, CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties announced the recent appointments of Michelle Lockhart, Carole Richards, Sharlene Brown, Paula Luther and Chris Contreras as court appointed special advocates (CASAs) by Judge Benton Eskew, Bastrop County Court of Law.CASA is part of a national volunteer movement that began in 1977 when Judge David Soukup in Seattle decided he needed to know more about the children whose lives were in his hands.
