Man indicted for stabbing deputy

AUSTIN — After an off-duty Bastrop County sheriff’s deputy was injured last month, an indictment has been handed down to person accused of stabbing him.Jaime Eliseo Canales, 40, was indicted Dec. 1 by a Travis County grand jury with a charge of attempted capital murder of a peace officer.
