County, cities see increased sales tax revenue

Bastrop County and its cities have all received more sales tax revenue during the first payment period of 2020 than during the same period last year. According to data for January 2020 from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts website, Bastrop County has collected and been paid $400,651.07 in sales tax revenue over the most recent month-long period. This is a 11.73 percent increase from the same period last year. Elgin has collected $194,619.14 during the January payment period, a 16.92 percent increase from 2019.
