The Elgin ISD school board met last Monday evening to hear a presentation from the Bastrop County Appraisal District and discuss the district’s upcoming tax rate and budget for the 2019-20 year. Salaries increased for EISD faculty, staff Superintendent Jodi Duron gave a legislative update pertaining to the controversial school financing bill, House Bill 3. Essentially, the bill called for an overhaul of public school financing. As a benefit of HB3, Elgin ISD will see additional funds for its staff.
