BASTROP – A new city manager has been chosen for Bastrop.On Sept. 2, the Bastrop City Council held a special meeting and voted unanimously to extend an offer of employment to Sylvia Carrillo to serve in the position of city manager.“I am honored to become part of the fabric of the Bastrop community and continue to plan for a prosperous city for our future generations – a place we can all be proud to call home,” said Carrillo.In naming Carrillo, the council authorized Mayor Connie Schroeder to execute an employment agreement.
