BASTROP — October’s First Friday Art Walk, historic downtown’s free monthly gathering of local creatives, will be kicking off a month-long celebration commemorating the city’s 100-year-old triple-arch steel bridge known as Old Iron Bridge.The theme for the Oct. 6 event is “Bastrop Love — celebrate our bridge,” and is billed as an evening filled with musical and visual performances, classical and contemporary artwork and historical insights showcasing Bastrop’s iconic bridgeway.“Our beloved bridge has been a source of inspiration for countless artists throughout its century-long history,” said Nancy Wood, director of events for the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center, sponsor of ...
