Welcome to the Kid Scoop Download Zone! This week's Kid Scoop is all about how women won the right to vote.

This educational tool motivates young learners to improve their literacy, math, science, social studies and geography skills by using the print and digital newspaper as well as a variety of dynamic educational resources to encourage students to utilize critical thinking skills and analyze current events in the world around them. Thematic topics cover a wide range of interests and multiple content areas while extensions lead children to other sections of the newspaper for more expository reading. Newspapers improve students’ reading achievement, retention and comprehension. In one study, reading skills increase by two grade levels for students who used the newspaper compared to students using traditional methods.

Community members and local businesses are the heart of all N.I.E. programs.
