Three new businesses welcomed to Elgin

    On Thursday, August 29, owner Martha Flores cut the ribbon for New Beginnings Child Development Center, a facility located at 700 Bull Run Road. According to Flores' daughter, Andrea Navarro (pictured to the left of Flores), the childcare center will be able to take care of 81 children from birth up to five years old. Flores also runs a childcare center of the same name in Eagle Lake, Texas, a town about 50 miles west of Houston.

    Last Thursday after the Elgin Chamber of Commerce member luncheon, a ribbon cutting celebrating the new CHeMn Cafe was held at its shop location at 114 North Main Street. CHeMn Cafe is a chemistry-themed coffee shop, which has been serving coffee in downtown Elgin since its soft opening during July's Sip, Shop & Stroll. Here, owner Monica Barker (center) cuts the ribbon for the cafe.

    Rising Sun Vineyard, a family-owned vineyard located at 233 Edmonson Ranch Road northeast of McDade, hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Friday afternoon. Rising Sun sells their own wine, which can be found at Here, owners Steve and Sandy Frintz and their family cut the ribbon to commemorate the opening of Rising Sun Vineyard.
