Elgin Police Department and Elgin Fire Department rekindled their holiday rivalry once again for the Battle of Main Street on Thursday evening at Sip, Shop & Stroll, competing to see which department could bring in the most donated toys this year for Blue Santa and Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. People were encouraged to drop off new, unopened toys at locations throughout downtown Elgin, with Rainey Real Estate hosting EPD and Chemn Cafe, The Healthy Spot and A Flower Connection collecting for EFD.
