During the 21st annual Cattlemen for Cancer Research auction on October 19, the organization raised over $125,000 to support cancer research at the Michael E. Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research and patient assistance at MD Anderson, according to a post on their Face-book page.
CCR began in 1999 by a group of Central Texas who wanted to combine their love of ranching and desire to help neighbors affected by cancer; their annual cattle auction has raised more than $2.1 million for research and programs at the Keeling Center.
