Downtown McDade appeared to be filled with outlaws, vigilantes and McDade residents from the late 1800s on Saturday for a celebration of the town’s 150th anniversary. Activities of the day included live music from local musicians, a square dancing demonstration, and even a Q&A with Western actors Gary Clarke and Dean Reading. The highlight of the afternoon was a live reenactment of the infamous Christmas Day Shootout of 1883 between the Notch-cutters, an outlaw gang that rustled cattle and assaulted the locals, and a group of McDade vigilantes trying to bring justice.See more photos and read more about McDade’s history ...
