Library to encourage parent-child reading

After receiving a sizable grant last month, the Elgin Public Library plans to implement a program encouraging parents to share the joy and importance of reading with their young children. The $24,724 grant comes from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), funded by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Elgin Public Library was awarded the grant on August 12, and the Elgin City Council formally accepted the grant during its regular meeting on September 6.
