Howard Payne University awarded degrees to 120 graduates during its spring 2019 commencement ceremony at the close of the semester. One of those 120 students was Karla Grace Zachary from Elgin. Karla Grace Zachary earned her Bachelor of Science in the Guy D. Newman Honors Academy and in social science (jurisprudence). She was given the honor of Summa Cum Laude.
