Three months after its rebirth, the Elgin Farmers’ Market is still growing strong. The Elgin Farmers’ Market first began about 30 years ago and operated consistently until participation began to decline three years ago, according to Austin Moline, the current president of the newly-revived Elgin Farmers’ Market. Moline is the co-owner of Market Garden 42, a farm focusing natural farming techniques and soil health. “It’s been non-operational for about three years now,” he said. “We’re just trying to get it revitalized at this point.” The last farmers’ market was held in March 2017, according to their Facebook page.
