Students from second to fifth grade from Booker T. Washington Elementary, Elgin Elementary and Neidig Elementary schools competed in their local UIL Academic contests on Saturday, January 25 at Elgin Middle School. Contest events included Creative Writing, Storytelling, Number Sense, Spelling, Music Memory and others. The young students were entertained by volunteers from Elgin High School athletics, dance and cheerleading when not competing.
