Colorful decorations, informative activities and festive music drew a crowd to downtown Elgin last Thursday evening for a celebration of life and loved ones.Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a traditional celebration in Mexico and Latin America celebrating life and death where mourning is exchanged for celebration. Friends and family gather together to remember and pray for friends and family members who have died. Traditionally held on November 1 and 2, the holiday includes making an altar for a deceased family member with photos, yellow marigold flowers, favorite food and drinks of the one being honored,
