This month, the Elgin Garden Club named the Elgin Recreation Center’s Pollinator Gardens as the December Yard of the Month.The Elgin Recreation Center was originally constructed in 2018 with standard landscaping that offered little visual interest or support to local fauna. As a result, Elgin Parks & Recreation staff and Rec members worked to transform the space into a biologically diverse, drought-tolerant garden that supports pollinators and other wildlife.
