After less than a year of work and organizing, a local charter school advocacy group has recruited a new school to Bastrop County.
Last week, Bastrop Charter Advocate Network (CAN) announced that Founders Classical Academy, a tuition-free public charter school system that offers a classical education method, would be opening a campus in Bastrop this fall.
Bastrop CAN launched in August 2020 with the goal of recruiting a public charter school to Bastrop County. Since then, the organization has gathered the support of over 300 families. Founders was one of the earliest schools to begin working with Bastrop CAN.
