After schools have been shut down for over two months, Elgin’s elementary teachers got to give their students a proper send-off before the summer break with a series of “reverse parades” at the three campuses last week. At these parades, teachers stood on the sidewalk in front of their schools as the families of their students drove by, giving the teachers and students a chance to say goodbye and celebrate the end of the school year. Elgin Elementary School held their reverse parade on Thursday afternoon, while Neidig Elementary School held theirs on Thursday evening. Booker T. Washington Elementary School held a series of reverse parades throughout the past couple of weeks celebrating each grade level.
