Elgin Empty Bowl plans drive-through event

Tough times call for “out-of-the-box” solutions—and that’s what’s happening with Elgin’s third annual Empty Bowl event on Saturday, November 14th from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Instead of the usual fullhouse indoor event and soup sampling, it’s going outside to the SPJST Lodge parking lot, 702 Highway 95 South. And, it’s an all drivethrough event where ticketed participants will each receive a “goodie bag” containing a hand-deco rated pottery bowl—an Empty Bowl tradition—plus discount coupons from local restaurants and merchants.
