Read moreBetty Lee Dildy, age 94 of Elgin, died on August 11, 2020. She was born on January 20, 1926 in Fort Towson, Oklahoma. In 1930 her parents, Dale and Lila Cecil Willson, moved the family from Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Elgin to operate the El-Tex Theatre. Betty Lee had many fond memories growing up in Elgin. She graduated from Elgin High School and completed a B.A. in sociology from The University of Texas at Austin. In 1948 she married Harold Dildy and they raised four children (Lee, Dale, Diane, Jo Ellen). Betty Lee supported Harold’s entrepreneurial spirit and many business ventures, beginning with Joe’s Toggery on Main Street to Holy Cow Ranch, Eltex Fence, and residential greenhouse design and construction.

Paul was born on September 2, 1955 in Elgin, Texas to Paul and Julia Jonse. Paul traveled the world serving his country in the Navy abord the USS Kitty Hawk before returning to Central Texas to raise his two sons, Christopher and Jonathan. During this time, Paul joyfully served as an employee of the First Evangelical Free Church of Austin for 20 years.
