BRYAN – Members of the Lee County Texas Stars 4-H Horse Club attended the 4-H State Horse Show July 22-28 in Bryan. Students competed in events such as roping, halter, drill, sorting, barrels, poles, stockhorse pleasure, horsemanship, trail and more, and placed in several events.

Read moreMCDADE – The Hawk Walk at Rising Sun will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Rising Sun Vineyard, 233 Edmonson Ranch Rd. in McDade. The interactive walk brings nature up close and personal to guests. Meet with a falconer in a class of no more than 15 individuals and learn about human’s ancient relationship with raptors through falconry. Participants must be at least 10 years old.
