Read moreIn place of the usual 4th of July parade or the Chalk It Up art competition, the Elgin Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a reverse 4th of July parade and an online chalk art competition this month. Participants are encouraged to build a “parade float” or 4th of July parade in their front yard through July 10, and decorate their driveway or sidewalks with their best chalk art through July 15, then send photographs to parks@ci.elgin.tx.us.
