The Wildcats lost two of their games last week against Bastrop and Pflugerville Weiss, one by just two points in overtime.
The Elgin boys’ varsity basketball first traveled to Bastrop to play their rivals, the Bears, on Tuesday, January 19. The game went into overtime, and the Wildcats just barely lost to Bastrop, 70-68.
Throughout most of the game, the Wildcats stayed just a few points behind the Bears, until they caught up in the fourth quarter. Elgin pulled ahead, then Bastrop did, and the two teams went into overtime.
