Both pitching staffs had their hands full last Tuesday in a high-scoring affair where the Elgin Lady Cats bested Cedar Creek, 14-8.
Elgin (18-8, 9-1 District 18-5A) got on the board in the top of the second. Kelsea Calhoun drew a bases-loaded walk, forcing in the first of five runs in the inning.
The Lady Cats also scored on a hit-by-pitch, a two-run single by Hannah Reiley and another bases-loaded walk to build a 5-0 lead.
Elgin notched five more runs in the third inning, extending its lead to 10-0. The big inning was thanks to singles by Alexis Cathey and Kiana Gibson,
