AUSTIN – A dynamic duo of Elgin High School varsity softball players had the outstanding honor of being named to the Austin American-Statesman All-Central Texas team this week. Senior standouts Paiton Altmiller and Jessica Cantrell of the Lady Wildcats were both selected for the team.As a third-team utility pick for the All-Central Texas team, Altmiller was effective on offense as she batted .398 with 39 hits, 25 runs batted in, 14 runs scored and 14 doubles. She also pitched 53 innings of relief in the circle with 39 strikeouts, a 2.77 earned run average, and just 11 walks issued.Selected as an ...
