Wilma Vernice Helgren

Wilma Vernice Helgren, age 93, of Elgin, went to be with her Lord and savior Monday, May 20, 2019.

Wilma was born to Clyde and Lula Ruthven August 29, 1925 in Blue, TX. After graduating Lexington High School in 1943 she moved to Elgin where she began working for Bell Telephone Co. She then met and married the love of her life Clarence Helgren. They shared 69 wonderful years together and had two sons Kenny and Bubba.

She is preceded in death by her husband, son Kenny, grandson Joshua, both her parents, and brothers Haskell, Melvin, Wayland and Arnold.

Wilma is survived her son Rodney and wife Carol, grandchildren Leah and Matt Pace, Sarah and Justin Tim-ming, Jake Helgren, Tracy Annis and Cathy Naiser, Ryan and Hope Helgren. She is also survived by thirteen Great-Grandchildren and two Great Great-Grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 24, 2019 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with a Celebration of Wilma’s Life beginning at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
