Ruth Evelyn Scott

Ruth Evelyn Scott, age 82, of Lexington, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday April 11, 2022.  Ruth was born at home in Kerrville, Texas on July 22, 1939 to her parents, Lee Alice and Chester Cox.  She was the youngest of three children.  Ruth graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville in 1957. She married Edward Scott on April 8, 1961.  Together they shared a wonderful life as each other’s best friend. They had two daughters, Sheila and Dana.

Ruth loved going to the beach with her family, gardening, reading, arts & crafts, painting and quilting.  She blessed her girls and each of her grandchildren with a homemade quilt.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Lee Alice Cox, her father, Chester Cox, her sister, Marjorie Coleman, her brother, Samuel Cox, and her beloved husband, Edward Scott.

Ruth is survived by her children, Sheila Ann Wisian and husband, David, Dana Lee Shaw and husband, Bryan, bonus daughter, Diane Wisian and husband, Donnie, her grandchildren, Scott Wisian and wife, Carissa, Kenneth Wisian and wife, Sabrina, Garrett Shaw and fiancé, Michaela Reiss, Zachary Wisian and girlfriend, Jazlyn Marvin, and Leah Shaw, and bonus granddaughters, Ann Brownlow and husband, James, Katie Marin and husband, Zach.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Landon, Lane, Harrison, and Kennedy Evelyn, and bonus great grandchildren, Austin, Emily, William, and Carson.

Mawmaw was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A Visitation was held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Elgin. A Celebration of Life followed. A Graveside Service followed at Kurten Cemetery in Kurten, Texas.
