Kebana Rachel Frost left her loving mark on cherished family and dear friends, and departed this earth she cared for so deeply on June 25, 2021.  Born November 10, 1977, in Waco, Texas, to Darcy (Krone) Schneider and Christopher James Frost, Kebana grew up in Hanover, Massachusetts, and at the age of six, moved to Austin and to Elgin. Kebana earned a Bachelor of Arts in history/social sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, with her major reflecting her keen interest in people, society and culture. She earned a Master of Arts degree from the Seminary of the Southwest, and for years, caringly supported many individuals through her practice as a licensed professional counselor.

Upon completing her master’s degree and internship, Kebana brought enduring integrity and commitment to her professional career in counseling.  She constantly sought to affirm the sacredness of every individual and to engage them in an authentic search for identity and meaning.

In 2019, Kebana married Steve Pudloski in the beautiful Hill Country. The two met in 2014 and built a tender union through shared interests, activities, and a loving practice of reading to each other at the end of each day. Kebana and Steve loved traveling together and with cherished family members and friends. They nurtured a loving and supportive relationship that helped them navigate the joys and sorrows of life.

Kebana lived life intentionally. She was a longtime member of the Appamada community, where she invested in ways to live a caring life through contemporary Zen teachings. Some of her dearest friends included her weekly writing group with whom she put lived experience to pen. She frequently hiked in and around Austin’s beautiful trails with family and friends. She worked for a year recently with a wilderness group in Austin to understand intimately how to live in close communion with the earth. As an adult, she took dancing lessons, singing lessons, poetry and history courses, marched in protests and was a serious lifelong reader and live music enthusiast.

Kebana brought a life full of vitality, creativity, and truth-seeking to her family, clients, friends, humanity and the universe. We will miss her intense intellect, meaningful conversations, playfulness and love for games.

Kebana loved deeply, especially her daughter, Shaela Jaid Frost of Kerrville, who was born in 1997. She is also survived by her husband Steve Pudloski of Austin, and stepdaughter Chloé Shero and husband Julien Décamps of Grenoble, France; father, Christopher Frost and stepmother, Kathy of Austin; mother, Darcy (Krone) Schneider and stepfather, Ernie of Elgin; siblings Jared Frost and wife Beth of Austin, Aristéa (Téa) Frost of Austin, Lori Schneider of College Station, Tammy Wright and husband Steve of Elgin, Cory Schneider and husband Randy Brent of Los Angeles; grandmother, Maurine Frost, and grandfather, Jack Frost. Kebana knew she was loved and will be loved deeply and for infinity by all of her extended family and friends.

A celebration of Kebana’s life will be held Sunday, August 22nd at 2 pm at Mercury Hall, 615 Cardinal Lane, Austin, Texas, 78704.
