Jesse King Junior was born on May 17, 1957, in Taylor. He was the eldest of Jesse King Senior and Mary Etta King.

Jesse Jr., Jess-June as he was affectionately called, attended Elgin Public Schools and graduated from Elgin High School in 1975. It was there that he excelled in basketball earning him all Central — Texas State honors. Jesse continued his basketball career at Concordia University. He later married his high school sweetheart, Barbara, and to this union two children, LaKeisha and Bryan, were born.

Jesse, a devoted family man and provider, began his professional career at Motorola. There, he worked diligently for 43 years. He received several merit awards during his tenure at Motorola, one of which included a 35-year perfect attendance award.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Sr., and brother, Charles King. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Barbara, of 42 years; mother, Mary Etta; brother, Joe; daughter, LaKeisha, and son in law, Glynn James, of Round Rock; and son, Bryan, and Katie, of Pflugerville. Jesse has four beloved grandchildren whom he adored, Kyrah, Braylon, Raeden and Cadence. He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends to cherish his memory.

A viewing was held on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, from noon to 8 p.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment followed at Littig Cemetery.
