James Martin Kisamore

James “Jamie” Martin Kisamore was born February 6, 1952 to Emma Jean and Lindsey Kisamore in Elgin, TX. He passed away on May 20, 2019 at age 67.

He graduated from Elgin High School in 1970. Throughout his career he worked for IBM, South-side Wrecker, and Elgin ISD. He was a dedicated member of the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years, as well as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and United Way. He also volunteered as an umpire and coach for many years with the Elgin Little League Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, old western movies, and riding his Harley.

He is survived by his children Elizabeth, Lindsey, James Jr, and Shane, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth, sister Deborah and their spouses, sister Barbara, numerous nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Elgin, 205 W. 2nd Street, on Thursday, May 30 at 3pm. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department.
