Frank Lynn Voelker, 87, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, August 22, 2021.  He was born in Elgin, Texas, on September 28, 1933, to Anna Hanke Voelker and Albert Frederick Voelker.  Frank was baptized, confirmed, and married at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church of Elgin, where he remained an active member until his death.  Frank attended school in Elgin and graduated with the Class of ’52.  After graduation, he began farming and later was employed for over 30 years with Elgin Standard Brick Co., which would later become Acme Brick Co. before he retired.  Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman; he thoroughly enjoyed his fishing trips and camp-life at the deer lease with family and friends.

Frank was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  His kind, loving, and a joyful presence will be missed by all.  But we can rejoice in the assurance he is in God’s care now, and for this we are grateful!

Frank was preceded in death by both his parents; his brother, Albert Neill Voelker and his wife Ina; his parents-in-law, Reverend and Mrs. Louis Hannemann; and brother-in-law, Ron Hannemann.

Frank is survived his loving wife of 65 years, Charlotte; his son, Kyle Voekler and wife, Mary; his two precious grandchildren, Klayton and Madison; his sister, Carolyn Sandlin; brother-in-law, Gary Hannemann and wife Stephanie; sister-in-law, Karen and husband Randy Cathey; three nephews, Carl Hannemann and wife Pam, Paul Zavadil, and Ian Cathey; his niece, Marcie and husband Craig Moehnke and their children, Brayden and Libbie; and numerous extended family and dear friends.

Memorial contributions can be made in Frank’s Memory to Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church of Elgin.

He will lie state at Elgin Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 25th from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a Graveside Service at Elgin Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Pastor Brannon presiding.  A Celebration of Frank’s Life and Eternal Glory will be conducted at Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church of Elgin, Saturday, August 28th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Brannon presiding.  Arrangements and care are entrusted to Elgin Funeral Home.
