Arlene Jeanne Lindstrom was born to Walter and Louise Busch on October 4, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York and completed her journey in this life on August 11, 2021 in Elgin, Texas surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Robert Victor Lindstrom, her daughter, Victoria Jean Edwards and brother-in-law Richard Zweier. She is survived by her sister, Miriam Zweier, children, Sr. Susan Lindstrom OSB, Christine Swenson and husband John, Mike Lindstrom and wife, Jan, and Bill Lindstrom; her grandchildren, Ronnie Polston III and wife Crystal, Tiffany Ellis and husband Adam, Reba Edwards, Andrew Lindstrom, Rebecca Riggs and husband Ryan, Kramer Lindstrom, Korben Lindstrom, and Erik Lindstrom; great-grandchildren Ayden Ellis, Austyn Ellis, Skyler Ellis, and Ember Edwards.

No one fits better the moniker – “Beloved wife and mother” (add to that Grandmother and Great-Grandmother). Arlene’s life was dedicated to caring for those around her. One of her greatest joys was on days when most, if not all, the family were gathered together. Just above the love for her family was her love of Jesus, whom she now knows fully and face-to-face. Arlene and her husband, Bob, served in many capacities in the Catholic church throughout their life. Arlene was often the helper in the background taking care of others without any desire for recognition or applause. Her absence will be felt in the years to come, but the gift of love and life she gave will carry on through eternity.

Family and Friends will gather for visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin, Friday, August 20th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM.  A Celebration of Christian Funeral Mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Saturday, August 21st at 10:00 AM with Father Paul Presiding.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in Arlene’s memory to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

Arrangements and care are entrusted to Elgin Funeral Home.
