Albert William Neff, III (AXCS Retired)

Albert William Neff, III, 73 years of age, Blue Texas, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 27th , 2019.

Albert was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 11, 1945. He was the son of Albert W. Jr. and Sarah Margaret (Martin) Neff.

Al received his B.S. in Electronics from Southern Illinois University while serving in the United States Navy. Retiring from the USN after a successful 28 years of service, Al had another successful career. He was Supervising Instructor for ITT Technical Institute in Jacksonville, FL, promoted to Director of Education for ITT Tech in Austin, TX. He retired in 2012. Al was a longtime American MENSA member. He was also a president and member of the Blue Branch Volunteer Fire Department, Lexington (Blue) TX.

He is survived by his father of Fredrick, PA; mother of New Castle, DE; his wife Sheryl Dietrich-Neff and step-daughter, Lois Dietrich both of Blue, TX. A sister Catherine/William Thomas of New Castle, DE; two brothers, Kenneth Neff/ Diane Camel of Flourtown, PA and Robert Neff/Kathleen Neff of Marietta, OH. Also, survived by his nieces Sarah-Margaret Bolden, Sunshine Adams and his nephew Chad Thomas. His faithful and beloved cat, Ms. “Silver” Streak, survives him as well.

A United States Navy Burial at Sea with port of embarkation at the Naval Station Mayport, FL will take place.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, La Grange, TX; Blue Branch Volunteer Fire Dept., Lexington, TX; or Kubosh Adoptables Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Elgin, TX.
