Unofficial results in for primary elections

The unofficial results are in for Bastrop County's primary elections.

All voting centers in Bastrop County reported their results at 10:09 p.m. The unofficial results include Election Day, early voting and some mail-in ballots. More ballots may be counted in the coming days, and the election will be certified and official results released after all ballots are counted.

The major contested races in Bastrop County important to the Elgin area for this primary election are for county commissioner, county judge and state representative in the Republican primary.

In the commissioner race for Precinct 4, Elgin's area of Bastrop County, David Glass leads with 52.47% of the vote.

For county judge, Don Loucks leads narrowly with 36.62%, with Gregory Klaus close behind at 34.55%.

For House District 17 in the Texas Legislature, which includes Bastrop County, only 37 of 87 precincts had reported results as of 10:30 p.m. At that time, Stan Gerdes led with Paul Pape and Tom Glass close behind, according to the state's results; Pape leads Gerdes in Bastrop County votes, according to Bastrop County's results. By Wednesday morning, with all precincts reporting to the state, Gerdes continued to lead with 29.96%, with Pape at 27.72% and Glass at 25.69%.
