Article Image Alt Text

What made you want to run for this position?

I care about insuring the best future of Elgin residents' quality of life.

What kind of experience - educational, professional or personal - do you bring to this position?

Experience with private business ownership, working for government agencies, awarded a business administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin and volunteered to serve numerous Central Texas civic and community organizations.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing Elgin?

Managing new growth needs and existing infrastructure upgrades with thoughtful planning and budgeting.

How do you expect Elgin to adapt as Bastrop County’s population grows? Where do you see the city in five years?

The Elgin community will have to adapt and adjust quickly to accommodate the influx of new residents in Central Texas. The City of Elgin is predicted to be much larger in population in the next five years and will need to insure the preservation of its friendly small-town Texas charm. City leadership will be asked to manage the growth with precision and careful master planning. While at the same time leaders will need to be mindful and supportive of the needs of existing Elginites as we all welcome our new neighbors to town.

What is one issue you want to fix or improve if you take office?

Open the door for transparency and accountability in city operations when taxpayer money is being managed and spent.

Why should the voters choose you? What sets you apart from your opponent?

I am looking forward to providing Elginites a voice on the council that will hear their concerns and ideas and bring those forward for thoughtful consideration. I am excited about all citizens being invited to the table and being involved in how Elgin is governed to create the best future.
