First-year Elgin Wildcats head basketball coach John Howie concluded Wildcats Basketball Camp Thursday, June 17, with approximately 45 campers in attendance. The week-long summer basketball camp focused on ball-handling, shooting, and passing fundamentals. Campers were divided into two divisions based on grade-level. Each camper was awarded a certificate of participation and received a Wildcat basketball program guide. Elgin ISD’s new head football coach and athletic director Heath Clawson addressed the campers on the closing session and talked to the youngsters about the importance of unity, toughness and discipline.
