Wildcats start slow, finish bi-district champs

After starting the 2021 baseball season 0-8, the Elgin Wildcats found their groove, going 19-8 the rest of the season to finish 19-17 overall and 12-2 in district 18-5A as a back-and-forth season battle with Pflugerville Hendrickson resulted in a second place seeding for the playoffs. On March 16, the Wildcats went on a winning tear, winning 13 of 14 games to close out the regular season.  During the streak, Elgin posted five shutout wins against Pflugerville, Manor twice, Pflugerville Weiss and Pflugerville Connally as they swept through district play with their only two losses coming at the hands of Pflugerville ...
