The Elgin Wildcats baseball team asserted themselves early, as they took down the Vista Ridge Rangers on the road Saturday 9-3.
The Wildcats got things started in the first inning when Braylon Owens doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring Keaton Grady and Trevor Kirgan to put Elgin up 2-0.
Elgin got on the board again in their half of the second when Kirgan walked with the bases jammed, driving in Justin Strong.
