The Elgin Wildcats baseball team asserted themselves early, as they took down the Vista Ridge Rangers on the road Saturday 9-3. The Wildcats got things started in the first inning when Braylon Owens doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring Keaton Grady and Trevor Kirgan to put Elgin up 2-0. Elgin got on the board again in their half of the second when Kirgan walked with the bases jammed, driving in Justin Strong. An error by the Rangers sent three more Elgin runners home.
